
Who we are:
EBG MedAustron is a cancer treatment and research centre in Wiener Neustadt that is unique in Austria. MedAustron uses ion therapy, an innovative form of radiation therapy, in the fight against cancer.
We offer a unique working environment built around the particle accelerator used for therapy and research with protons and carbon ions. We have set ourselves the goal of prolonging the lives of cancer patients and improving their quality of life.
Our ‘System Implementation’- Group is responsible for the mechanical design, firmware and hardware design, software development and DevOps of an integrated accelerator control system and the medical software of the MedAustron particle accelerator.
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to work with a particle accelerator. Your tasks will range from 3D design of mechanical accelerator components to their installation and the creation of electrical circuit diagrams. Your contribution and skills will help to ensure that our particle accelerator is precisely designed and installed and can deliver its full performance, thereby making a direct contribution to the effective treatment of our cancer patients.

A job where you can make a difference:
- 3D design of mechanical accelerator components

Skills that make you our strength:
- Completed technical education at high school diploma level (e.g. HTL) or ongoing/completed technical
studies in the fields of mechanical engineering/mechatronics - Initial relevant professional experience is an advantage
- Ideally, (school) knowledge of creating electrical circuit diagrams with EPLAN
- Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor is advantageous
- Experience with PLC development (Siemens S7) is advantageous
- Very good English skills (minimum B2 level), German skills are an advantage
- You are a team player with a precise, independent way of working and a hands-on mentality
- Willingness to work on call
- Willingness to work in shifts
For legal reasons, we are obliged to point out that the minimum gross annual salary for this position is € 36,400
with a willingness to pay above this amount depending on professional qualifications and experience.
